He Will Sustain You!

Psa 55:22  Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

The promise is not that the Lord will remove the load we cast upon Him...

Nor that He will carry it for us...

But that He will sustain us so that we may carry it.

He does not free us from the duty...

But He strengthens us for it.

He does not deliver us from the conflict...

But He enables us to overcome.

He does not withhold or withdraw the trial from us ...

But He helps us in trial to be submissive and victorious...

And makes it a blessing to us.

He does not mitigate the hardness or severity of our circumstances...

Taking away the difficult elements...

Removing the thorns...

Making life easy for us...

But He puts Divine grace into our heart...

So that we can live sweetly in all the hard, adverse circumstances.

2Co 12:9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Php 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

GOD Finishes His Work

Psalm 138:8  The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

He who has begun will carry on the work which is being wrought within my soul.

The LORD is concerned about everything that concerns me.

All that is now good, but not perfect, the LORD will watch over, preserve, and carry out to completion.

This is a great comfort.

I could not perfect the work of grace myself.

Of that I am quite sure, for I fail every day and have only held on so long as I have because the LORD has helped me.

If the LORD were to leave me, all my past experience would go for nothing, and I should perish from the way.

But the LORD will continue to bless me.

He will perfect my faith, my love, my character, my lifework.

He will do this because He has begun a work in me.

He gave me the concern I feel, and, in a measure, He has fulfilled my gracious aspirations...

He never leaves a work unfinished; this would not be for His glory, nor would it be like Him.

He knows how to accomplish His gracious design, and though my own evil nature and the world and the devil all conspire to hinder Him, I do not doubt His promise.

He will perfect that which concerneth me, and I will praise Him forever. LORD, let Thy gracious work make some advance this day!

Spiritual Discernment Is Vital!

We must seek more and more from the Lord a quickening and purifying of spirit...

And we must walk after the spirit in whatever discernment we have so that we are saved from the imitation "oil" which deceives...

And at length lands us either into error or gets us into a spiritual cul-de-sac.

Such are they that are carried about by every wind of teaching.

Spiritual discernment is one of the Most Vital Needs of God's people today.

Nothing can take its place, not even the wisest and best teaching or counsel.

Only those who have it will be saved from the distraction and despair of the bewildering mass of conflicting teaching, "manifestations," and movements of these and the coming days...
